Nord Arin at BIFE-SIM: timeless solid wood furniture, balancing minimalism and craftsmanship

BIFE-SIM has become, in recent years, the leading autumn event in the furniture industry, as well as our annual opportunity to meet with clients, partners, and design enthusiasts in Romania.

It is the event that brings Nord Arin furniture face-to-face with those who seek items with personality and timeless character, manufactured locally, for their homes or interior design and architecture projects.

At the BIFE-SIM 2025 edition, we presented to the Romanian public emblematic furniture pieces from the brand's portfolio, which have become bestsellers overseas, novelties launched this spring at Salone del Mobile in Milan, as well as several entirely new concepts, exhibited for the first time internationally at Romexpo.

Visitors to the event warmly received the new products launched and once again confirmed the Romanians' desire to have solid wood furniture with contemporary, minimalist shapes in their homes.

We observed increased interest in durable, artisanal pieces that remain relevant even after 5 or 10 years, as well as the desire to buy local, from domestic manufacturers.

Concepts premiered at home, in Romania

The furniture concepts exhibited this year at BIFE-SIM reflect the minimalist language particular to the Nord Arin brand, but experiment more at the level of textures and materials.

One Nord Arin creation that received waves of appreciation is the Harmony dining table, crafted from solid oak. Starting from the familiar silhouette of the four-legged table, designer VOICU envisioned a composition with organic details, inspired by the plant world and the free forms found in the natural environment. The top with rounded edges rests on oak legs that seem to spread downwards, just like the petals of an open flower.

It is a seemingly simple piece, but one that captures solid wood in new forms and hides delicate details, meticulously crafted by Nord Arin artisans.

Also, the oval tables Silence and Sirius - two creations of Brâncuși-inspired design, highly appreciated in the USA - attracted attention due to their robust volumes, studied proportions, and clean surfaces, which showcase the natural wood grain in a theatrical, spectacular way.

An absolute novelty was the Cortina dining table with a glass top and a base made from a material full of personality: Burl Poplar.

This type of veneer highlights surfaces with rich pigment, with irregular patterns and unique formations - all naturally occurring. Burl Poplar brings a touch of individuality to the Cortina table, without overcrowding or diluting attention from the sinuous silhouette of the piece.

Alongside the solid wood pieces designed for living and dining areas, we had the pleasure of exhibiting office furniture - the Inia desk and the ARC bookcase, a recent addition to the brand's portfolio.

With the massive shift to remote or hybrid work, more and more of us are looking to set up a dedicated home office area that fosters concentration and productivity.

The ARC modular bookcase brings dynamism and personality to any contemporary office, through a mix of straight and curved lines that visually "break" the monotony of a monochrome wall or a purely minimalist arrangement.

The structure with open compartments of various sizes offers generous and varied storage spaces, allowing for the creative placement of books, family memories, and small art objects, in diverse configurations.

The surprise element of the piece lies in its modular design, which allows it to be placed both vertically and horizontally, for easier access to beloved titles from the library.
